STUDY "University training programmes for engineers"
Return to news list
Following its study on the "Evaluation of engineering research" (June 2009), the AERES is now publishing a new study on French university training programmes for engineers.
Training programmes for engineers depend from one country to the next on various strategies, especially in France where this education is divided between specialised engineering schools and universities.
In the current context of creating closer links between these specialised schools and universities, the AERES led a working group made up of professionals from the academic and professional worlds in the field of engineering. This group has:
- firstly, examined the position of these two channels in comparison with various foreign models;
- secondly, considered the nature of a university training programme in engineering, with reference to the "international" model and to different French models.
