Visit of the Georgian Vice-Minister of Higher Education
On 20 October 2010, the French Evaluation Agency for Research and Higher Education (AERES) welcomed Nodar Surguladze, Georgian Vice-Minister of Higher Education, for a study visit to France.
Introduced in Georgia in 2005, the Bologna Process has brought about the launch of a European institutional twinning project on the "Capacity Enhancement for Implementing the Bologna Action Lines in Georgia (CEIBAL). The project is being implemented by a Franco-German consortium: CIEP - AERES, in association with the GTZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für technische Zusammenarbeit) and the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst).
The AERES has been called on to provide its quality assurance expertise and know-how for this project. In this regard, on 20 October 2010 the AERES welcomed a Georgian delegation representing the Ministry of Higher Education, the National Centre for Teacher Professional Development and the National Centre for Quality Assurance of Georgia.
This meeting was an opportunity to discuss more particularly:
- the French research system
- the AERES' procedures for assessing research
- the AERES' integrated evaluation method.
