Evaluation process

Evaluation stages

The evaluation of an institution involves several stages: preparation, visit and post-evaluation stages.

The process is as follows:

  • submission of applications
  • examination of applications
  • expert committee preparatory meeting
  • on-site visit of the expert committee in the institution
  • post-evaluation meeting
  • validation of the report by the AERES
  • dispatch of the report to institutions for their comments
  • publication of the evaluation report together with the institution’s comments on the AERES website

Documents to be supplied by the evaluated institution:
  • Self-evaluation report
  • Four-year contract under way
  • Declaration of strategic objectives
  • Institution’s organisation chart
  • Financial accounts of the last four contractual years (approved by the Board of Administrators)
  • External reviews conducted following the institution’s initiative (strategic steering committee, visiting committee)
